The First One
"The First One" was the earliest artwork in my paper series to feature a single floating shape as its focal point. As the piece evolved, it unexpectedly began to feel like an abstract self-portrait. The playful, light-filled sides of motherhood and the act of dreaming toward the future rose to the surface and ultimately became the main idea of the work.
represents the idea that some days feel worth my than others. Some days the sun shines brighter, and things feel more important. Embracing these days and enjoying time fully when they come are shown in this piece as the rays of light grow throughout the work.
